Lifelink - Churches Working Together has a five fold vision:
According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it. For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:10 (NASB)
So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit. Ephesians 2:19-22 (NASB)
With Christ as the cornerstone the church is Establishing a foundation of Apostles and Prophets establishing a foundation of truth and seeking to help all people everywhere, experience God's morality and justice.
How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!” Romans 10:14 -15 (NASB)
Proclaiming and explaining, by whatever means the good news of Jesus to every part of the world so that all may experience his love and compassion. This would include publishing and broadcasting, through study modules, books, magazines, tapes, radio, and television. Our aim is to reach all nations.
He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-13 (NASB)
Equipping individuals and churches by training leaders and making disciples, this would include the development of new ministries and releasing individuals and churches into their ministry and calling.
Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-29 (NASB)
"...but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (NASB)
Extending the Kingdom rule of God is the great commandment that Jesus left with the Church. Lifelink looks to see His kingdom extended in any way God directs us, and this includes planting new churches
Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NASB)
Strengthening and overseeing existing churches so that the church is restored to that which God originally intended. |
