 What is O2H?
O2H is a grant-giving organisation with Christ centred community based development at the core of its mission and outreach. Christ’s heart of compassion toward the poor is the driving force behind O2H as it seeks to help overcome poverty through empowerment.O2H is a tool to equip Churches Working Together to make a difference in their local communities and across the nations. It is registered as part of the charity Lifelink International, registered charity number: 1070770
How is O2H different to other Charities?
It is 100% voluntary, so you are guaranteed that your gift goes directly to help others. It works directly with trusted partners, recommended by its membership and Lifelink contacts. If you become a member you can also apply for funds to support initiatives that you or your community are involved with in this country and overseas.
Why become a member?
Becoming a member of O2H provides you with the opportunity to bring HOPE through supporting projects and training in disadvantaged communities. Through giving as little as £5/month you can be a part of a ministry that helps overcome poverty through empowerment. O2H is not just about finance, it is about giving your time in prayer and for those who really have a passion to reach out to the poor, you may feel that you would like to volunteer your time on the management Board, which meets quarterly. As a representative of the O2H membership on the Board you will be closely involved firsthand in seeing where the funds are dispersed and the development initiatives that are being supported.
Can a Church be a member of O2H?
Yes they can. The majority of our members are individuals, however we do have a few Churches who have committed a regular gift each month to the O2H fund. If your Church would like to do this, email: kristina@opportunity2hope.org.uk for more information.
Do I have to be part of a Lifelink Church to be a member?
No you don't. O2H membership is open to everyone who has a campassionate and giving heart towards the poor. Several of our members do not attend a lifelink Church. We even have two people on the management board of O2H who are non-Lifelink Church attenders!
Can anyone apply for O2H funds?
The O2H Board will consider funding applications throughout the year from the membership of O2H as well as specific projects and training as directed by the Trustees of Lifelink International. To see when the Board next meets, click here. Details of funding criteria and submission deadlines can be obtained by contacting the O2H Coordinator: kristina@opportunity2hope.org.uk. Every joining member will receive copies of the funding application process.
What about O2H in the USA?
We have several requests from individuals and Churches in the USA wanting to join Opportunity2Hope. We are hoping to set up an online donation facility in 2007. Visit www.opportunity2hope.org and register your interest on the membership page.
How will I know what O2H is supporting?
As a member of O2H you will receive regular updates and news. A summary of the funding agreed by the Board will be detailed, along with stories from those who have received support. We will also hold annual O2H conferences that all members will be invited to. Presentations will be made to show how O2H has brought hope to many communities across the nations.
